The Talk

Christian sat on the couch, ignoring Eve's questioning look. She turned toward him, her hands stopping as she stopped her work.

Eve: What's the matter, Christian? You look like your puppy just died.

Christian: I tried talking to Trent and he blew me off. Pretty typical of Mister Emo really.

Eve: Well, I'm here. Why don't you talk to me?

Christian: It's about guys stuff.

You know... Kaede.

That's why.

Eve: Then you really SHOULD talk to me.

Eve: Why you'd even talk to Trent about women is beyond logic and reason.

He's never even HAD a girlfriend before.

Christian: He told me you and he... I... uhm, I am so stupid. I have the biggest mouth ever and shouldn't have said anything.

Eve: Ok, yes I made out with him once, ok! But that doesn't make boyfriend material nor does that make Trent know everything about girls!

In fact, he has a lot more to learn about women.

A LOT more.

Christian: I'm starting to get a headache. Is the air getting thinner in here?

Eve: What's this all about anyway? Did you and Kaede finally have sex?

Christian: EVE! Kaede is a very nice girl! She wouldn't just--

Eve: I'm not saying she isn't! Calm down!

Eve: You were going to talk to Trent about sex though, weren't you?

Christian: Maybe.

Eve: God you are the worst liar ever.

Christian: You know I can't lie.

And I'm pathetic.

Eve: Why are you pathetic now?

Christian: It's just... we're doing stuff... and well... I have no idea what the hell I'm doing.

That's why I'm pathetic.

Eve: I think it's sweet.

Christian: Sweet?

Christian rolled his eyes.

Christian: Sweet if I hurt her? What's so damn sweet about that? I don't want her first time to be painful or embarrassing because I'm a moron!

Eve: Christian, I'm telling you right now, her first time is going to be painful and quite possibly embarrassing no matter what.

Christian: Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence.

Eve: It's not really YOUR fault. Well, it sort of is. Uhm... well... this isn't going very well, is it?

Christian: It's ok. I get it. I just wish things were different, you know?

Eve: Christian, you just be yourself and listen to her. Let her set the pace and take the lead. I'm sure if you don't force anything, everything will be fine.

Christian sighed and he took Eve's hand in his own.

Christian: Thanks, Eve.

Eve: Really, Christian... relax. She seems to really like you. I'm sure this will all work out. Just don't rush things or stress yourself out about it. If it happens, it happens.

Christian: Sure...relax. That will happen.

::Sigh::

Eve: Everything will be just fine. You'll see.
