Information on Pre-ordering DSAM Orijean

Greetings. This is DollShe ki‐yong, DollShe craft’s sculptor.
Before all else, I would like to extend my most sincere thanks to Jong-hak and Torre at Dollstown.
The launch of DollShe craft's official English site has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
We are accepting a limited number of pre-orders for the newly developed DSAM Orijean between January 18 and January 30.
If we get too many orders, we will have to stop taking additional orders irrespective of this schedule.
We ask for your interest and attention in the pre-order event.

Introducing DSAM body

The joints of existing BJDs’ are all of the same structure: each joint consists of a ball covered with clay.
Dolls with joints that have a ball-shaped core allow much room for illegal piracy, and indeed, there have been actual cases of illegal copying and modification of original models that have caused independent original doll makers much grief.
The design motivation for Dollshe’s MSJDs came from the understanding that the existing ball-joint method posed limitations in terms of structure and form.
DollShe created his MSJDs to enhance the sculptural beauty of BJDs while overcoming their structural limitations.
Except for a few ball-shaped joints, DollShe’s MSJDs have irregular joint structures, making them distinctive in terms of their appearance and movement.
Given that DollShe MSJDs are assemblies of irregularly shaped surfaces, even minor adjustments to their joint structures lead to the erosion of their original mobility structure and sculptural value.

Stability of DollShe’s joint mobility structure

DollShe's MSJDs are highly mobile: they can be arranged into poses that replicate the movements of the human body.
The joints are organically structured and interconnected.
When a joint reaches its maximum scope of mobility, an interior lock fixture keeps it from getting into an unnatural position.

DollShe’s independent tension (elastic string) attachment configuration

All DollShe's MSJDs have an independent tension (elastic string) attachment configuration.
The configuration facilitates tension (elastic string) assembly and replacement.
DollShe's MSJDs independent tension (elastic string) attachment configuration allows different degrees of tension to apply to different body parts, allowing for greater mobility.
This is what sets DollShe's MSJDs independent tension (elastic string) attachment configuration apart from existing tension (elastic string) configurations.
Existing dolls have a tension (elastic string) configuration whereby two elastic strings run through the entire length of the body, from the arm to the leg.
However, DollShe’s MSJDs have separate elastic strings in the left arm, right arm, from the left leg to the neck, and from the right left to the neck.
Therefore, moving one part of the doll's body does not affect the tension in the others parts of the doll’s body, enabling more subtle and stable poses.

Introducing Orijean Head

"Orijean" is a portmanteau word that blends "oriental" and "jeans," referring to a oriental male youth who looks good in jeans.
I had initially named the doll "Origin" to highlight the fact that it is an original handcrafted doll.
However, the name seemed too obvious and inadequate.
Given my interest in Native American tribes, I was inspired by a book on Sitting Bull, the last Native American chief, and by the movies The Last of the Mohicans and Dances with Wolves: I thought  it would be a good idea to come up with a name that encapsulates the characteristic traits of the doll.
Also, given that "Orijean" sounds similar to "origin," I thought that the name "Orijean" stays true to my initial intentions and befits the head's image.
This is how the name "Orijean" was born.

Structure of Orijean Head

The face of the Orijean Head can be removed, facilitating makeup application and eyeball replacement.
The structure features a sculpturally appealing partitioned seam.

DollShe craft joint doll's urethane resin colors

With its optimized color scheme system, Dollshe craft offers six different consistent and uniform skin tones.
To maintain an optimal color balance for makeup application, a large amount of color-related data is gathered to produce consistent and uniform skin tones on DollShe craft’s multi smooth joint dolls (MSJDs).
Using our urethane color scheme system, DollShe craft manages a standardized color scheme data for each skin tone to minimize color variation.
There is hardly any visible color variation between the head and body of all reproduced dolls, thereby making individual parts interchangeable.

*There is little we can do to prevent discoloration from yellowing.
Given the characteristics of urethane resin, exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided.
Long hours of exposure to direct sunlight can accelerate yellowing.

Pale, Fresh, Oriental, Pale Tan, Tan, Ebony

Caution
* Do not remove the parting lines on pale tan, tan, and ebony dolls as it will lead to discoloration.

DollShe craft only makes, reproduces, and receives orders for original handcrafted JDs.

DollShe craft will make public all of the key stages of the original model-making process so that anyone can verify that DollShe dolls are original handcrafted dolls.
Illegal pirating cases have been on the rise and so have cases of making superficial modifications to an original model and selling the reproductions as originals.
By making our production process an open one, I, as a sculptor, hopes to protect the integrity and value of handcrafted dolls and enable consumers to distinguish between original handcrafted dolls and those that are not.
DollShe craft will work hard to join forces with other likeminded makers of original handcrafted dolls so that opening the production process to the public becomes the accepted norm.
Only original handcrafted dolls can truly satisfy diehard doll fans.
Consumer and doll maker awareness is the only way for handcrafted JDs to survive and advance.

The orders will be shipped between February 15 and February 30, in the order by which the pre-orders have been placed.

DSAM Orijean Order Price by Skin Type

During the pre-order period, we will accept orders for both the head and the body at the same time.
Thereafter, the head and body can be ordered separately through our website.
Materials prices have risen, and given that Orijean has twice as more body parts than regular joint dolls (JDs), the production cost has also risen. Moreover, Orijean features the new tension (elastic string) attachment configuration whereby each aluminum tension part has been cut individually with a lathe.
All of these factors combined have resulted in a significant increase in the unit cost.
Compared to regular JDs, fewer DSAM bodies and Orijean heads can be reproduced from a silicon mold.
The structure of the Orijean head is such that no more than ten reproductions can be made from a single silicon mold.
We, therefore, had no choice but to reflect the rise in production and unit costs in the sales price.
