Couch Potatoes

After surviving a crazy weekend away with his best friend Trent, Christian was more than ready for his third date with Kaede.  But inviting her over to The Loft was a big step, at least to him.

In the Den, Christian puts the final touches on the room.  An assortment of  snacks are set up on the coffee table along with soda pop.  Nervously he set down the remote after making sure DVD was all set, ready to play.

Christian: [Thinking]  I hope inviting her over to watch movies wasn't too forward.  I'm just too wiped out after this last weekend.

Christian: [Thinking] Maybe I should have canceled the date?  Jesus, I'm so exhausted.  I barely slept this weekend.

Christian: [Thinking] But, I just didn't want to NOT see her.

I miss her.

A soft knock at the door pulled him from his thoughts.

Opening up the door, Christian immediately recognized the smiling face that greeted him and he relaxed.

Christian: Ah, Kaede, you're here!  So great to see you!

Christian:  Come on in!  It's probably still too hot outside!  Thanks for coming over.

Christian: I have sodas and stuff to eat over here.  Come in and relax.

Kaede: Thanks for inviting me over.

Christian:  Thanks for coming over on such short notice.

Christian: You look... so nice.  Are you wearing perfume?

Kaede:  ::Blush::

Christian:  I'm sorry.  Am I embarrassing you?

Kaede: Maybe a little.  You're just so sweet.

Christian:  Well, I'm not lying.  I never lie.

Kaede:  You don't?

Christian:  Nope.  I'm a horrible liar.

Kaede:  Ok then, horrible liar. How about a hug?

Christian: I thought you'd never ask.

Christian:  This will probably make you even more uncomfortable, but I'm never one for saying the right thing at the right time.

I really missed you.

Kaede:  Aw... Christian.  I missed you too.

A few moments passed and the young couple regretfully separated.  Christian escorted Kaede to the couch and awkwardly took his seat in the over-stuffed chair.

Kaede: So...

Christian: [Nervous] So...

Kaede:  How was your weekend?  You went someplace with your roommate right?   What's his name again?

Christian:  Oh, yeah, him?  Trent.  Uhm, it was interesting.  It was just supposed to be the two of us, but turned into more than that.

Christian:  It was somewhat annoying, but it all worked out I suppose.  Just waiting for the dust to clear really.  Trent is still sleeping the weekend off.

Kaede:  Lucky him.

Christian:  Tell me about it.  I wish I could do that.
